After 20 years as a Certified Health Education Specialist and the last 10 years spent in corporate healthcare marketing, I became a Pilates instructor, having been trained by Marie Jose-Blom at Long Beach Dance Conditioning.  I was certified in 2006, and am a "mature" individual (euphimism for "gray-haired").  I found Pilates over 10 years ago when I was rehabbing from knee surgery and was hooked.  I fell out of it for about 5 years and then once I got back into it, I felt it was my calling.  I have a small, home-based studio in the Long Beach area and get my clients primarily from flyers I leave around the neighborhood and from my web site at www.startreatmentpilates.com.  I also teach at ShapeShift Pilates Studio in Rolling Hills.  I try to go to at least one conference a year to keep myself educated and motivated and am always looking for scholarship or work-to-learn opportunities <img src="http://www.forums.pi...IR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />.  I appreciate the discussion boards and always find something useful on them.  Thanks!
