Has anyone here seen the Jay Grimes Pilates Revealed DVD which is available on the Gratz website?

The sample download provides never seen before footage of the The Hundred and The Rollup! If anyone here has seen this DVD or has any information on the contents I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.

My boss has a copy--I'll post back when I've viewed the whole thing. It's a pretty cool resource from what I've seen.

I saw Jay Grimes in person at a workshop in Dallas a few years ago. It was very interesting to hear how the exercises have evolved and to see how he learned them from Joe.
He claims to teach the exercises as Joe wanted, and that many of the things that we are taught, were not as Joe intended.

During a mat workout he kept smacking ( yes, smacking) the feet of one woman who was a ballet dancer, and rather sharply by the way, repeatedly corrected her not to point her toes, he told her she was doing ballet not Pilates. Even though he was a dancer himself he does not extoll that perspective and his mat class was athletic, very rigorous and very challenging.

I have to say his teaching style was somewhat harsh and during a reformer workout he yelled at a young woman that she was performing the worst semi-circle he had even seen, without knowing that it was the first time she had tried it....she broke down in tears.

BUT..he was funny and engaging, very irreverent of the whole Pilates scene today.....

I use what I learned there when I teach mat work, and it makes grown men weep. If you can get a copy of that DVD it's worth the money.

I have had the privilege of attending a couple of Workshops with Jay Grimes. For me he represents the Pure Classical Pilates work, and takes all the mystery out of this Method of exercise movement. I am just a simple devotee of Mat, but, I would encourage anyone who gets the opportunity to attend his Workshops, to do so. It is an experience to cherish and it will only strengthen your Pilates workout. The DVD is a "must" for the Pilates practitioner.

I'm curious about the dvd as well!
I've had the privilege of attending a workshop with Jay Grimes and it was one of the most worthwhile & valuable workshops I've ever attended.
I wanted to also ask if anyone is familiar with the dvd's Jay Grimes has done with Marilu Henner? Is he actually teaching in the dvd's? Is it only matwork? How long is it?

All comments appreciated & if you want you can message me your comments as well :-)

So far, it's mostly a $20 Gratz advertisement, not correction or touch techniques, however, it's nice to see the differences in the bodies working side by side, nice to see some lightness, heart, camaraderie and laughs, so I'm enjoying it :)

Agreed! Made me chuckle and gave me the *warm fuzzies* more than once :D It's nice to see heart and movement and flow and inspiration, sometimes we spend too much time in our head, thinking and stressing, about bodies and money and blah blah blah, we lose heart and warmth.. it was nice to see that :)

That DVD shot at Brooke Siler's Studio is of all advanced people.
It was to advertise the Reformers and show the original work,
it is not a how-to but a once-you-have....

Jay will be teaching Beginning and Super Advanced Reformer, Mat, and
Cadillac at the Los Angeles Pilates Intensive Aug 26,27,28. Workshops
are as little as $75. and the weather cant be beat!
